This Is Us
We started Wind & Willow Studios as two friends who shared a passion for photography coupled with a common education. We are hopeless romantics, eternal optimists, and super sentimental. Being able to capture not just beautiful photographs, but documenting real emotions and creating lasting memories of the big events and in-between moments alike is what lights a fire in our souls. We get joy from the little things, like having a drink with friends or wandering through the forest with our pups. We’re suckers for love stories and couples who can’t get enough of each other. Hey friend! It’s me, Tori! That’s right, I’m the one who’s height is matched by my ability to talk, loudly and with as many hand gestures as possible.
There’s a few things you should know about me. I am the crazy animal lady. I say animal lady because I’m not a dog or a cat person, I’m a “I can’t live without both” person. I’ve got two cats, Amos (aka Moose…and many other nicknames) and Abel, a rescue pup named Charles Barkley Brown (again - countless nicknames. I can’t help it) and my first furbaby, a horse named Sadie. I also work as the photography manager for a local dog rescue, so don’t bring up animals if you aren’t ready to lose minimum a half-hour of your life talking to me. You’ve been warned.
I have an unhealthy love of cheese, cinnamon buns, and ice cream. I fully believe that a glass of red wine and a bowl of popcorn is an acceptable dinner (my partner, Christian, does not agree). I’ve been vegetarian since 2016 (Christian’s not a big fan of this either, lol).
I love to sit by a fire with a cider, enjoy my coffee outside in the sun, or have a whiskey on the rocks under the stars. I’m a big fan of being outside, unless it involves me freezing my ass off in our Canadian winters. I’m terrified of moths, so if I run off screaming at nothing, you’ll know why. Otherwise, I’m all about the wind blowin’ in my hair, sun shining on my face, grass beneath my toes kinda life. I firmly believe a little bit of dirt does everyone some good.
I’m super sentimental, and memories are really important to me. I got my MA in photo preservation & collections management from Ryerson in 2018, so I am a trained archivist.
I have a weird obsession with dancing during the credit music of TV shows and movies. I just can’t help myself.
I’m the middle of three girls, and a super proud aunt. I grew up in the same house my entire life so it has definitely made me a bit of a homebody.

I may look like i'm 15 most days but don't let that fool you cuz I'm that girl that orders herbal tea while her friends are knocking back cocktails, and tucks herself into bed at 10pm at night (but ideally earlier).
I'm a bit of a homebody but if I let myself do that for too long I go a lil cray cray [insert me dancing around the house like a weirdo singing Disney songs and getting in everyones face] #sorrynotsorry
I'm pretty dang emotional. I'm the girl that will still bawl her eyes out when even thinking about the movie Air Bud. I cry watching comedies, reality shows, hell even some commercials. I'll be the one taking photos of the speeches at the reception while trying to secretly wipe away the tears behind the camera because literally. every. damn. one. gets me right in the feels.
I’m obsessed with northern dogs, huskies/malamutes specifically - i’ve had 5 of them in my lifetime so far.
Sometimes I break out into dance randomly. I can’t help it. I get all this energy and I just gotta let it out. Not good dance moves either, but whateevaaa.
I was a competitive figure skater growing up. If I have one regret in life it was not figuring out a way to continue to do that and school/work etc. I honestly loved it so much and I miss it every day. If anyone wants to go skating sometime holla!
I love tea. Specifically herbal teas, I drink them every day.
Swishy skirts are life!
Bonus fact – I’m the eldest of two. Our parents studied engineering & business, and they ended up with two kids in the arts lol. My lil bro is a talented trumpet player.

Q & AQuestionAnswerWhat is your shooting style like?
We are documentary-style photographers, which really just means that we wanna capture all the feels, and your authentic wonderful selves, while being as unobtrusive as possible! We do still get some posed shots of course, but we really wanna be a third-wheel for your session or event and capture it as it unfolds.
How many images can we expect?
Each shoot is so unique, so this number can definitely vary but you can expect typically 80-100 images per hour of shooting. Double the images if you have both of us at your shoot though ;)
How much do you edit your photos?
We are all about that self-love and body positivity, so we stick primarily to adjustments for colour, lighting, skin tone, and blemish removal. We also use a custom filter to give all our images that consistent Wind & Willow vibe!
Do you always shoot together?
Weddings - yes! And if for any reason one of us is unavailable, we’ll be sure to find a rad second shooter for your day to capture all the other angles (but we will always edit to ensure you still have that Wind & Willow Studios look!)
Engagement Sessions - if the wedding collection you booked includes an engagement session and the wedding will include both of us then we will for sure both be at this shoot! We think it’s so important that we can work with you ahead of the big day so you can get comfortable with both of us!
All other sessions - this is up to you! We love shooting together just because we can snag more angles, offer you more photos and push each other creatively. However one photographer is also totally doable so if you feel more comfortable with that then that’s okay with us!
What if we are super awkward in front of the camera?
Ok, confession time - we are also hella awkward in front of the camera. We have all sorts of prompts and tricks up our sleeves to get you focused on your partner and not on how weird it is to have a camera or two pointed your way. We are ridiculously silly, outgoing, loud, and will not hesitate to start dancing or jumping up and down to make you forget about feeling self-conscious.
OMG what do we wear to a session??
This is a super common question with a surprisingly easy answer - whatever the heck makes you feel comfortable and like your badass self!!! Try to use the colour wheel to find complimentary colours, and keep things simple. Try to limit prints to one person. If it is a session we are doing rather than a wedding, bring an outfit change. And if all else fails, send us some pics of what your options are! We will happily make reco’s before your shoot.
